Fears, Phobias and Addictions
Addictions are things that we do or use that distract us from the thoughts and feelings we don’t want to have. We may not even be consciously aware that we are using them as a ‘tranquiliser’ for our thoughts and feelings. Addictions such as smoking, drinking, drugs or gambling work to keep our mind off our problems, even those we have pushed down and boxed up. We sometimes need to keep ourselves distracted so those pushed down emotions don’t come to the surface again. We find things that work at doing that for us. It might be food that works for us, or even keeping busy, because then we are not giving ourselves time to think or feel.
Addictions can be hard to beat if you don’t address the reasons why you need them, i.e. the emotional contributors. Your addiction is your coping mechanism and right now you probably need it. If we change the thoughts, beliefs and emotions that are either consciously or unconsciously causing the need for your addiction then you we are over half way there. Then we give you a new coping mechanism so you can deal with future stressors. EFT is a self help tool and I will empower you to use it yourself so you have a coping mechanism for life.

Fears and Phobias

I met Karen Degen through my networking group and booked an appointment with her and tried not to be too skeptical! The issue we worked on was my fear of birds and their flapping and moths and them getting stuck in my hair! After we completed the process I went home and turned the outside light on to attract moths and would you believe … none came! I tried this for several nights and couldn’t attract any moths. Low and behold I was in the kitchen one evening and a moth flew in the open window I batted it away and thought nothing of it until I looked over at my husband who had a look of shock on his face. It was then that I realized that I hadn’t reacted. I can’t tell you how many times that has happened lately and I even had a moth land on my head and just brushed it away.
